We will tailor our case-managed approach to meet your situation. There is ‘no wrong door’ and no predetermined set pathway. You will also have more visibility of your information and progress of your claim through our homeowner portal.
What is GCCRS?
Greater Christchurch Claims Resolution Service is a major initiative of the Crown’s Canterbury Insurance Programme, providing homeowners a free to access, independent pathway to help resolve residential claims stemming from the 2010-2011 earthquake.
GCCRS understands that getting insurance claims resolved has been hard for a lot of people and is committed to helping the people of Greater Christchurch with unresolved claims so they can move on with their lives.
Four advisory groups - engineering, legal, wellbeing and homeowner - have been established as part of the system-wide approach to support GCCRS help people with unresolved claims.
Christchurch Earthquake Claims Engineering Panel
Engineering New Zealand established the Christchurch Earthquake Claims Engineering Panel to support the work of the GCCRS towards resolving outstanding insurance claims.
Access to legal advice
GCCRS has partnered with Christchurch Community Law (CCL) to assist homeowners with access to legal advice. These lawyers will be engaged by a homeowner directly although in most cases the costs will be met by GCCRS.
The GCCRS Internal Dispute Resolution Service (IDRS) has been set up to assist in resolving disputes that haven’t been sorted by direct negotiations between your case manager and the insurer, or in circumstances where experts disagree on the method of rep
