What is GCCRS?

Greater Christchurch Claims Resolution Service is a major initiative of the Crown’s Canterbury Insurance Programme, providing homeowners a free to access, independent pathway to help resolve residential earthquake claims stemming from the 2010-2011 earthquake sequence.

GCCRS is hosted by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) with a dedicated team in Christchurch specifically focussed on facilitating the resolution of unresolved earthquake claims. GCCRS coordinates with EQC and insurers to ensure a streamlined process from the homeowner’s point of view.

With homeowner permission, our dedicated team of settlement support case managers in Christchurch can access EQC and Southern Response information on a property to ensure you access the best resolution pathway for your case, in the most efficient way.

Once you’ve registered with GCCRS, your technical reports and information will be uploaded to our homeowner portal(external link)  so you can view it too.
